EMA provided MEP design services for the new Ronald McDonald House in Shreveport, Louisiana. This facility will serve as a “home away from home” for families with critically ill children receiving medical care, offering a safe and supportive environment during difficult times.
The new house features 20 family suites, daily meals and snacks, laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor activity spaces, and community areas that foster connection and comfort, all free of charge for families in need.
EMA’s mechanical design includes individual vertical packaged heat pump (VTAC) units for guest rooms, with common spaces served by heat pump split systems. The design also incorporates kitchen exhaust for the shared kitchen area and a generator system providing emergency power to HVAC and lighting systems, providing comfort and reliability for residents at all times.
